I am a psychotherapist with over 30 years’ experience and work from my private practice located in a rural village setting, five miles from Cambridge, UK. Generally, I work face to face or online for clients living further afield and in other countries.
My way of working has evolved into what I now describe as a collaborative counselling conversational style. Together, we work to discover what is at the heart of you – what hurts you, what makes your heart sing, and what you may be passionate about. I want to help you get to know who you truly are, thereby enriching your presence on this earth. I am fascinated in family histories and transgenerational resonances and have forever been intrigued with our different and unique stories, yet continuously amazed with all things that seem to unite us.
With a keen interest in Eastern and historical philosophies, and as a former ceramics, art and drama teacher I am passionate about integrating imagination, imagery and symbolism into sessional work. For most of the years I have worked as a therapist, I have used the creative and expressive arts whenever appropriate to reignite a spirit of curiosity in our everyday lives.
Clients in the main, though not always, are professionals working in health, care, human resources, education and associated fields who are wishing to deepen levels of self-development and awareness – or maybe a sense of loneliness, emptiness or life is lacking purpose and fulfilment pervades.
Above all, though, I believe in developing the true potential in each of us and never underestimate the considerable contribution gentleness, tenderness, kindness and compassion makes to this process, for we are all in need of this from time to time.
