Psychotherapy and Counselling:
Often considered as interchangeable therapies, psychotherapy and counselling can be both similar and different. Counselling may be considered as short term therapy working on personal awareness and development. Psychotherapy is likely to be long term in-depth work exploring issues to develop insight into personal difficulties and then formulating alternative ways of managing life. The good effects of therapy rely on the relationship that develops during the counselling sessions as well as the understanding and expertise of the therapist. Extensive experience of working in the field of emotional health and wellbeing enables me to offer both psychotherapy and counselling.

Children, adolescents, families, adults, couples and groups are worked with and wherever appropriate the creative arts and play therapy techniques are used to make sense of and understand life experiences.

Clinical supervision:
Individual clinical supervision (specialist fields covering clay, sand and arts), usually in person, though telephone supervision is also available.
Group and agency clinical supervision for counselling organisations and health professional levels.

Academic services:
Academic supervision for research work:
Since 2006 academic supervision has been offered to researchers involved with Masters level dissertations.  A wide variety of subjects has been covered incorporating the creative arts and play therapy.

BACP Accreditation Applications:
Academic advice and support is offered to BACP accreditation applicants as well as guidance to trainee play therapists, counsellors and psychotherapists with aspects of assignment writing and portfolio building.
