“It is Only in Being Creative That the Individual Discovers the Self.” D. W. Winnicott
Do you feel ready to expand your therapy practice and offer creative mediums to adult and adolescent clients as well as children?
Is it time to refresh, revitalise and enhance your theoretical knowledge on the creative arts in therapy?
As a therapist might you wish to enjoy some creative time and space for yourself?
It is a myth that a therapist requires no specific art training to offer the creative arts within therapy. Indeed it is essential for a therapist working through the creative modalities with troubled clients to have experienced personal engagement and prior training in using the arts as a channel for expression thereby enabling respect as the client’s creative story unfolds.
The Course aims to cover the following:
- The origins of creativity and the need to be so
- Creativity throughout the stages of human life
- Theoretical concepts on creativity incorporating aspects of neuroscience
- The restorative and healing capacity of the creative arts as medicine for the soul
- Working with symbolism
- The meaning and function of metaphor
